Dear members of the Keystone Community,
Nelson Mandela once said, “No one is born hating another person because the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion.
People must learn to hate and if they learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” As the Black Student Union, we stand together in the fight against any form of hate, racism, injustice and violence.
We condemn the police actions that have transpired in front of Americans’ eyes. During a pandemic, which is killing black Americans in disproportionate numbers, we support the protesters in the fight against injustice and we hope you do too. These protests are not the end but only the beginning.
It is time for change and our change is now! The Black Student Union will continue to say the names of George Floyd, Ahmuad Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the countless lives lost due to the systematic racism in policing we see today in America. We will not stop until there is justice. No justice, no peace!
“As long as poverty, injustice, and gross inequality persist in our world, none of us can truly rest” – Nelson Mandela.
