La Plume, Pa. – Nightshade Press will hold a Scranton release party for its publication, Down the Dog Hole: 11 Poets on Northeast Pennsylvania, on Friday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. at Library Express at The Marketplace at Steamtown.
Several contributors will read their work, including: Thomas Blomain, Amanda Bradley, Craig Czury, Erin Delaney, Nancy Dymond, David Elliott, Brian Fanelli, Jane Julius Honchell, Susan Luckstone Jaffer, Dawn Leas, and Laurel Radzieski. Keystone College is donating all proceeds from sales that night to Library Express, a branch of the Scranton Public Library.
Earlier this month, Keystone officially re-introduced Nightshade Press, a publisher of literary works, which had operated at Keystone before taking a temporary hiatus in 2010. This is the second book release by Nightshade in recent months, the first being Transient, a book of poems by author Gail Carson Levine.
Nightshade Press was established by Carolyn Page and Roy Zarucchi in Troy, Maine in 1989. While in Maine, Ms. Page and Mr. Zarucchi published over 75 poetry and prose titles. In 2003, Karen Blomain, a professor at Keystone College and one of the first poets published by Nightshade Press when it was in Maine, arranged for Keystone to purchase Nightshade Press.
